Practical pieces of information about the conference

Dear Participants,

From Budapest to Debrecen you can travel by rail: intercity trains (IC) depart from Budapest Nyugati Pályaudvar (Western Railway Station) and arrive at Nagyállomás (Grand Station) in Debrecen. Each train leaving from Budapest Nyugati stops at “Ferihegy”, which is the closest station to Liszt Ferenc Airport, in case you arrive to Hungary by air. From the airport, you can travel to Ferihegy Station by taxi, or you can take bus No. 100E. If you travel by bus, you can buy tickets in the Arrival Hall of the airport. If you travels by rail, you can either purchase tickets via the following website – https://jegy.mav.hu/* – or you can buy tickets at “Ferihegy” station from vending machines.)

When you arrivee at the Debrecen railway station (Nagyállomás), you can take a taxi or tram No 1 to reach the Main Building of the University of Debrecen and your hotel or hostel. Tickets for the tram can be purchased within the railway station or in vending machines at some stops.

To find where your hotel is, information on accomodation will be sent over to to you a few days before the conference.

The location of the conference: University of Debrecen, Egyetem tér 1. Main Building, 2^nd floor, Karácsony Sándor Lecture Hall.

On 22 and 23 June, after the sessions, we are organising trips to Debrecen City Centre, and it is easier if we travel together and take tram No. 1 from (stop: “Egyetem”).

For the following day (24 June) we are planning an excursion to Nyírbátor and Tokaj through Szabolcs. A coach will leave at 8:30 a.m. from Debrecen, a location near to the hotels, to be announced later. In Tokaj, firstly, we will have wine tasting, then a modest dinner at around 15:00 p.m. On schedule, we will travel back to Debrecen around 5:00 p.m. the latest, therefore the ones who travel home will be able to catch their trains to Budapest. Furthermore, there is a possibility to travel directly from Tokaj to Budapest Keleti pályaudvar (Eastern Railway Station) if it is more convenient.
